RAAF Super Hornet Flypast at Wynnum RSL ANZAC Day

April 23, 2026

ANZAC Day Wreath Laying Ceremony

Prepare for takeoff – the RAAF Super Hornet is coming in low and fast! This year as part of our ANZAC Day wreath laying ceremony, Wynnum RSL Club is pleased to announce that a RAAF F/A-18 Super Hornet will be doing a flypast of the venue at 10:06am. The ceremony itself begins at 9:45am, providing a powerful and moving tribute to those who have served our nation.

The flypast is subject to the RAAF schedule, but we’re excited to offer this special addition to our traditional ceremony. It’s a rare opportunity to witness one of the Australian Defence Force’s most impressive aircraft in action, right here at Wynnum RSL. The timing has been carefully coordinated to honour the solemnity of the occasion.

Join Us in Remembrance

We invite families and the local community to join us for this significant day of remembrance. ANZAC Day is a time to reflect on the service and sacrifice of Australian servicemen and servicewomen, both past and present. The wreath laying ceremony is a meaningful way to pay our respects and ensure their legacy lives on.

Bring the family and be part of this special commemoration. The combination of our traditional ceremony and the RAAF Super Hornet flypast makes this year’s ANZAC Day event particularly memorable. Arrive early to secure a good viewing position for both the ceremony and the flypast.

Lest we forget.
