Gordon White Wins Perennial Trophy Singles Final at Wynnum RSL

July 13, 2026

A Thrilling Singles Final for the Wynnum RSL Indoor Bowls Club

Last Monday night delivered another exciting trophy final for the Wynnum RSL Indoor Bowls Club, with Gordon White and Ian Reid going head-to-head in the singles final for the Perennial Trophy – a prestigious award donated by the Brisbane Legacy Club.

The match was a tight contest from start to finish. After 15 ends, the scores were level, sending the game to a one-end play-off to decide the winner. In one of the closest finishes you’ll see on the rink, Gordon White took the title by less than 1 centimetre – a nail-biting result that had everyone on the edge of their seats.

Maurice Williams served as umpire for the evening, including the all-important task of measuring the distance on that crucial final end.

Great Competition Played in Great Spirits

As is always the case at the Wynnum RSL Indoor Bowls Club, the night was played in a fantastic spirit. Gordon White took home the trophy, with Ian Reid a very close runner-up – a result that truly could have gone either way.

It’s this kind of friendly yet competitive atmosphere that makes Monday nights at the Indoor Bowls Club such a great occasion for members and spectators alike.

The club is always on the lookout for new members. Games are played on Monday nights, and if you’re interested in joining or want to find out more, get in touch with the Wynnum RSL Reception for further details.
